The Letiště (Airport) Festival has entered its second decade of existence and on this occasion its name has been transformed into the LET Festival, which remains a musical mystical theatrical extravaganza.
For several years, the Letiště has closed itself into the genre category of jazz and electronic music. With its tenth edition, it breaks away from these boxes and offers a genre-diverse dramaturgy.
Live music will ring out the Motošín parking lot, already used in the past years, and electronic music will ring out the Eden that has finally been reached.
The jubilee edition is partly detached from the previously known latitudes and longitudes and borrows a magical draw a few minutes from the Drahotuše airport, where it was born out of a storm ten years ago.
LET24 x SPFM: Sunday rave landing
....
If you have time and energy left, we definitely recommend a 2.5km walk to the Hranice Abyss, which is the deepest flooded abyss in the world!
On the way you will also find two beautiful viewpoints over the valley. You can also go to the nearby Spa Teplice nad Bečvou, where excellent acid water flows, and you can walk there in 30 minutes. In the spa you can also visit the Aragonite Caves
However, the beauty of Hranice can also be experienced right in the centre, where you will find the Pernštejn Castle, the old town hall, a house with Renaissance sgraffiti, picturesque arcades, the city walls, the synagogue and the former Jewish ghetto.
If you like swimming and are mobile, we recommend the quarry in nearby Olšovec or Opatovice. Alternatively, you can wash the remains of the previous night directly in the river Bečva with with the entrance near Rybáře, which can also be reached on foot.
Hranice is a railway junction, so you can easily get to us by direct train from Ostrava or Prague (and many other places - Olomouc, Pardubice, etc.), with connections from anywhere.
The road to the Motošín area
From the station you can use the free bus service and get off at the Motošín or Pod farou stop. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or take a walk through the picturesque Hranice and in 30 minutes you are at the Motošín festival grounds.
If you are planning to drive, we have tips for free parking, either in front of the Cadastral Office, which is just across the road from the former Karnola. You can also use the longitudinal parking around the Sokol Hall, or in the more distant car park outside the Swimming Pool and walk the ten minute walk. However, there are other places to park near the festival.
The road to the Drahotuše area
Transport to the Drahotuše area is not so straightforward, but the uniqueness of this place will make up for it. You can choose the bus option, which will take you to the bus stop Hranice, Drahotuše náměstí from where you can reach the draw by a 20-minute walk. Alternatively, you can choose to take a taxi and be comfortably there in a few minutes.
If you choose to travel by car, you can use the marked parking lot within walking distance of the festival grounds. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get directly to the festival grounds by car due to the narrow road, where we give exclusive priority to pedestrians.
Transport between the premises
You can also take the bus between campuses! The bus line also runs from the Šromotovo náměstí stop to the Hranice, Drahotuše náměstí stop in the evening - the last connection on this route departs at 22:41 on Fridays and at 19:30 on Saturdays. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, or after the programme at the Motocin area, take a mass walk across the canal, where a special site-specific part of the programme will take place. If you want to be more efficient but sober as you move around, bring your bike.
In Hranice and Drahotuše you will find various accommodation options. Here are our tips:
Hotels and guesthouses
Pension Stará střelnice offers rooms and apartments in the style of Franz Josef I, including breakfast and use of the swimming pool set in an idyllic garden. What more could you ask for after a night of dancing? For visitors to the LET festival, a discount of 30% on accommodation services has been arranged. Simply show your festival ribbon or confirmation of ticket purchase.
Hotel Centrum is one of the most popular in the area and offers beautiful rooms! The price per night is from 1300 CZK including buffet breakfast.
Tents and campsites
Autocamp Hranice is the furthest (some 20 minutes by a comfortable walk), but it is the best price, and in a location you won't find anywhere else! The campsite is adjacent to the adjacent Protected Landscape Area, where the deepest flooded abyss on the planet (Earth) is located. Prices are affordable, but book early as places tend to run out early. You can stay overnight in a cabin, tent or car.
Another option is not to leave the Drahotuš oasis in the grove and pitch your tent in our tent city, which will be part of the festival grounds. There will be drinking water and toilets, the rest will be mild punk.
We have merch inspired by last year's and this year's graphics!! You can choose between a t-shirt, a cape, socks or a cap. If you don't want to wait until the festival to buy or indulge later, contact us at [email protected].
Air Force, z.s. was founded in 2014 with the aim of cultivating the cultural soil, especially in the Olomouc region. Over the years, however, the cultural and management activities have expanded to a nationwide scope.
For 10 years now, our main activity has been organizing the LET (formerly Airport) festival, which has become a popular cultural event presenting domestic and foreign projects, especially in the field of jazz, electronics and performance. But we are also behind many concerts in different cities, countless tours of foreign bands and the two-year operation of the cultural and community space Karnola.
Our long-standing goal is to create an alternative cultural scene, which is sorely lacking in Hranice, and to bring not only contemporary music to all regions of the country.
